The Chili Bowl was quite an experience for the Ortega Race Team. They went over there hoping to learn a few things at a couple of seminars, and to have a good time watching some great racing. The Janie Vogel Driver Development Seminar was great, and so was the Gary Wright/Maxim chassis seminar. The highlight of the Chili Bowl week was winning an IMCA modified in the Josh Howard Benefit Raffle. Manny bought a couple tickets because he had heard Josh's story, and wanted to help out. They couldn't believe it when Tony Stewart pulled the winning ticket with Derrik's name on it. It has been a little overwhelming, but the Ortega's are going to sell the car and use some of the money to try and raise more money for the Josh Howard Benefit.
